ADSS Cymru is leading the way to make social care in Wales fairer, more inclusive, and free from racism.

Through Welsh Government's Anti-Racist Wales Action Plan (ARWAP), we work with local authorities, Social Care Wales, the WLGA, and the wider sector to ensure that people from ethnic minority backgrounds face no barriers to employment, progression, or participation in social care. Our reports and programmes explore key areas including recruitment, career development, workplace culture, and interpretation services, providing evidence-based recommendations to drive lasting change.

This programme is about turning commitment into action. From leadership workshops to the Cultural Ambassador Network, we support local authorities to embed anti-racist practices across the sector. Whether you're a social care professional, leader, or stakeholder, this space offers the resources, learning, and connections to make a real difference in creating workplaces and services where everyone can thrive.

Testimonial from Shagufta Khan, previous ADSS Cymru ArWAP Strategic Lead:

I cannot speak highly enough of the ArWAP project team. The strong leadership, alongside the tenacity of the ArWAP project team, has delivered important work in advancing anti-racism. The team's ability to bring stakeholders together while providing clear direction has been key to creating practical tools and fostering much-needed collaboration.

This commitment to inclusivity and partnership working is evident throughout the project and has helped ensure the team’s outputs are both meaningful and actionable for local authorities. The team has shown real commitment and courage in embedding anti-racism principles and creating practical resources that empower local authorities.
