Unpaid Carers Project: Report

ADSS Cymru is pleased to publish the report from the Unpaid Carers Project.

This work has explored current practice in relation to unpaid carers needs assessments across Wales, identifying both strengths and areas where greater consistency, confidence and support for practitioners can be developed. The report brings together the findings from the project and sets out suggestions for improvement across seven prioritised topics, alongside overarching conclusions and wider recommendations.

Supporting practice: tools and resources

Alongside the report, the project has developed a suite of practical resources to support social care practitioners and teams in carrying out unpaid carers needs assessments.

These include training videos and a step-by-step flowchart designed to support day-to-day practice, build confidence, and promote greater consistency across local authorities.
