In reference to the report published by the BBC with regard to supplies of radioisotopes and the potential impact on cancer treatment, the Welsh Government has said:

“We welcome the guidance issued by the Royal College of Radiologists which provides advice to NHS bodies to mitigate and reduce the impact of delays in the event of a ‘no deal’ Brexit. We continue to liaise with the UK Government over the supply of radioisotope to NHS bodies in Wales.

We have received assurances that in the event of a ‘no deal’ Brexit the main suppliers have advanced plans to mitigate potential disruption at sea ports by air freighting these products but there could still be minor delays delivery times that could impact scheduled appointments.”
